Well I did my part to stimulate the economy by buying a guitar and decided I wanted to learn Monkey and the Engineer first. So I decided to check youtube for some inspiration, this is what I found

Very inspirational

BTW I got a Takamine GS430S and it is real nice

Thanks - I do believe it is going to take a lot of practice. I was playing around with my old Harmony Archtop but the neck on the Harmony is a little sensitive and the dry winter weather is causing lot of fret buzz so I can't really play any open chords. The new guitar is great.

I struggled through Monkey & Engineer multiple times last night until my fingertips were numb!!

Yeah it took a LONG time before I could even play for any longer than a few minutes at a time. Now I can play all day and they don't hurt. PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE!! I've been playing for 4 years now and I'm just really getting to where I can KINDA make the guitar do what I want it to.....kinda. LOL.

I agree with checking out the jdarks site...that guy has got the dead down pretty good...I've been playing since I was a kid and when I came across his site the first song I wanted to get down was black throated wind...always loved jerry's guitar work there

Thanks, I checked it briefly and bookmarked. It looks pretty thorough. I'm just beginning so it will be quite helpful.
